Yes! You can trigger an email that acts as a submission confirmation from an existing Submit action on your form:
- Click Workflow in the form builder and open the Action Settings for your Submit action.
- Under Send Emails, add and build your confirmation email. In the To field, use the Insert Field option to select the Email field that collects your form user’s email.
- Under Include, check the box next to Entry Details. This will include a copy of the form user’s entry details in the body of the email.
- Make sure to save your changes.

On September 27, 2021, we updated our Data Processing Addendum with the Standard Contractual Clauses as required to adhere to new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) provisions. Users who signed our DPA before these provisions took effect must sign our new DPA to ensure compliance beyond Dec 2022.
Yes! We are now offering data processing agreements for organizations who use Cognito Forms to collect personal data about people in the UK, EU, and US state of California. View a sample DPA.
To sign a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with Cognito Forms:
- Login to your Cognito Forms account.
- Select your organization’s name in the top left corner and then click Settings.
- Click Plan in the left-hand navigation, or scroll to the Plan section.
- From your plan settings, find the Privacy Regulation Compliance section and click the Sign our DPA to get started link. If you have an already signed version, click Exit your DPA and then click the Sign our DPA to get started link.
- Review the DPA as written in the dialog, then provide the legal name of your organization along with your title and signature at the bottom of the agreement and click the I Agree button.
Once completed, you’ll see a message indicating that you’ve successfully signed the DPA with Cognito Forms. You can then download a PDF copy of your agreement. (You’ll also automatically receive a copy of your agreement at the email address associated with your organization.)

Yes – you can customize email notifications to be sent on behalf of your website domain, contain custom content, show details from the entry, or go to multiple email addresses.
- Log in to your account and open the builder canvas for your form.
- Click Workflow, then open the Action Settings for the Submit action.
- Select or add an email notification under Send Emails. In the dialog that appears, add your email address to the To section. Optionally, check the Entry Details box in the Include? section.
- Make sure to save both the email dialog and your form.
Now when someone submits your form, you’ll automatically receive an email with details from their submission.

Yes! You can add images and logos to nearly any section of your forms.
- Content fields: If you have images hosted on another server, you can use a Content field to insert that image into your form. Or, you can simply upload the file and host it directly on Cognito Forms. Learn more about Content fields.
- Form header: On the Publish page, you can upload your organization’s logo to the top of the form. Learn more about customizing form headers.
- Background: On the Publish page, you can upload an image as your form’s page background. Learn more about customizing form backgrounds.
- Help text: Insert visual resources into Help Text to enhance your user experience. Learn more about using help text.
- Notification emails: Add your company logo or other images directly into the content of your notification emails. Learn more about email notifications.
To remove the Cognito Forms branding from your forms, simply upgrade your organization to a Pro, Team or Enterprise plan. The “Powered by Cognito Forms” branding will immediately disappear from all forms associated with that organization.
Please note that if you’re on a free trial of a paid plan, the branding will remain until your trial period has ended.
